България

Mineralcommerce AD is one of the oldest plants producing amorphous silica in Europe and still the only one on the Balkan Peninsula. The company started its activity in 1989 as a workshop in one of the largest chemical plants in Southeast Europe – ATZ “Agrobiochim”. During the privatization period, the workshop changed its owners and name several times, and since 2005 it has been known by its current name “Mineralcommerce”. The activity is focused on the production and marketing of precipitated amorphous silica with the trademark “Amosil” and sodium silicate solution, better known as water glass. The production is high-tech and automated. In the production process of SiO 2 are engaged only 3 people per shift with a production capacity ranging between 5 and 10 tons per day. Maximum production of sodium water glass varies between 24 and 45 tons per day. If there is interest, it is also possible to produce potassium silicate solution.
