KAUP has its origins in Aschaffenburg. A smithy was founded there in 1894, which later specialised in repairs for inland navigation and crane systems. This was the precursor to today's company. In the early 1960s, with Otmar Kaup at the helm, the company moved into the production of attachments for forklifts. KAUP produces around 40, 000 attachments worldwide each year at its three sites.
